In particular, the Northern Virginia region government contractors have seen the most growth of any one region within the United States. The economic growth of this geographic area is attributable to the industry of government contracts as they fuel a majority of the areas business.
If one examines the government contractor business within Northern Virginia, it is readily apparent that no one segment has attracted as much attention as the network support industry. There are thousands of companies that specialize in government contracts pertaining to network support services in Northern Virginia. Some primary contract holders and some subcontractors, there are even many sub-subcontractors.
Northern Virginia has seen the level of government contracting businesses increase that specialize in network support services due in large part to being geographically close to the District of Columbia. Because this area is home to all branches of our federal government it is where the legislative branch creates government contractor laws and thus tech companies around Washington, DC have a better understanding of the laws surrounding government contracting. Couple this with the constantly expanding network support industry in general and it is easy to comprehend why there is a strong presence of government contractors specializing in network support in the Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland area.
The recent change of the Presidency also sparked a series of networking support service work as the new regime required a complete network infrastructure overhaul. Much of the reason was due to data security and information assurance standards changes, but this all resulted in many new contracts and subcontract work for people in the Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia area.
