What is Networking
November 18, 2008
Networking (or a network) is loosely defined as a group of interconnected computers. These computers can be individual workstations or "desktops / users" or they can be a group of servers. Networks allow other units on the network to more easily share information.
In most businesses and government agencies the common form of network is the Local Area Network (LAN) and the Wide Area Network (WAN). Many organizations also use internetworks such an intranet.
